2023 Labour Party presidential candidate and former Anambra State Governor, Mr. Peter Obi, has praised Nigerian airline Air Peace for its professionalism and consistency on the Lagos–London route, while calling on political and business elites to strongly support indigenous enterprises.

Obi, who shared his thoughts in a statement after arriving in the United Kingdom aboard an Air Peace flight from Lagos, disclosed that he has flown with the airline to and from London nearly a dozen times, commending its operations and reliability.

“I want to sincerely thank the management and staff of Air Peace for their professionalism, consistency, and competence on this route,” he said.

Using the opportunity to make a broader appeal, Obi urged Nigerian leaders and elites to deliberately support local businesses, especially those in capital-intensive sectors like aviation and transportation, which face numerous challenges, including high operational costs and global competition.

“It is never easy to run any business in our difficult environment… Nigerian businesses need our encouragement and patronage, not harassment or unnecessary intimidation,” he stated.

Obi emphasized that patronizing homegrown enterprises is essential for job creation, economic growth, and long-term national development.

He concluded his message with a call for collective action toward national transformation, signing off with his signature mantra: “A new Nigeria is POssible.”

Days ago, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole caused a major disruption at Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 1 (MMA 1) early Tuesday morning after he reportedly locked the gate to the Zulu terminal in protest over missing his flight.

Oshiomhole, who arrived at the terminal at approximately 6:20 a.m. for a 6:30 a.m. Air Peace flight to Abuja, was denied boarding as the airline had already closed check-in and proceeded with an on-time departure
