“We Must Not Allow Opposition to Weaken” Makinde Says, Hosts Opposition Leaders’ Summit
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has warned that there will be consequences for the country if the opposition is allowed to weaken and called for stronger unity among opposition political parties.

Speaking at the ongoing summit of opposition leaders held at the Banquet Hall in Oyo State, Makinde emphasised the need for clarity of thought, honesty in communication, and a shared sense of responsibility that transcends party affiliations.
“If we allow the opposition to weaken, we will all bear the consequences,” the governor said.
“This is not a movement of fragmentation; it is a movement to think clearly, speak honestly, and act with a sense of responsibility that goes beyond party lines. Nigeria has gone too far to pretend that this does not matter and the responsibility to ensure that it does not go farther than it should belongs to all of us”
The summit, convened by Makinde, has in attendance Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Rabiu Kwankwaso, and other political leaders.
