Notorious Armed Robber Nabbed, Stolen Car, Others Recovered

The Anambra State Police Command have nabbed a 30-year-old notorious armed robber identified as Chidi Anieke and recovered firearms and a car stolen at gunpoint.

The suspect was arrested in Awada area on Wednesday by police operatives attached to the Command Rapid Response Squad (RRS) following information.

Chidi, a native of Mbu town in Isiuzo Local Government Area of Enugu State, had snatched a Toyota Corolla car from it’s the owner at Independence Layout in Enugu on Tuesday while he was driving into his residence.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Haruna Mohammed, the suspect drove the car to his hideout in Awada where he was arrested.

“Exhibits recovered in his possession include the snatched Toyota Corolla Car with Reg No ENU 269 PH, one locally-made double-barrel shotgun and seven life cartridges. The investigation is ongoing,” Haruna said.
