Release Nnamdi Kanu – Yul Edochie Appeals to Tinubu
Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has appealed to President Bola Tinubu for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, on Tuesday.
Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has appealed to President Bola Tinubu for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, on Tuesday.

Appealing on his social media platform, he reminded the former Lagos State governor of his fight for democracy over three decades, and thus, freedom should be extended to Kanu who was arrested by the government led by former President Muhammadu Buhari.
“To our Leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. The Jagaban. A man who has fought for democracy for 3 decades, A builder & supporter of men & women. My President, please release Nnamdi Kanu. A humble request from your son, Yul Edochie.”
Kanu was re-arrested in Kenya in June 2021 as revealed by the former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami.

He stated, “Self-acclaimed leader of the proscribed secessionist Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has been intercepted through the collaborative efforts of Nigerian intelligence and Security Services.
“He has been brought back to Nigeria, to continue facing trial after disappearing, while on bail regarding 11 count charge against him.”
Meanwhile, Kanu’s counsel Aloy Ejimakor who criticized Niger Delta Activist Asari Dokubo for persuading Tinubu not to release Kanu called the rant defamatory and said it will “trigger the international legal order as there are two subsisting international tribunal decisions.”
“The EndSARS protest (which) Dokubo blamed solely on Nnamdi Kanu was an amorphous mass movement of Nigerian youths that had no identifiable leaders, and its grave fallouts led to the constitution of many commissions of inquiry, none of which indicted Nnamdi Kanu, either as a participant or a leader.”
He reiterated that it was self-determination that led to Kanu’s extraordinary rendition and detention.
