KWAM1 Apologises for Airport Incident, Accepts Full Responsibility

Legendary Fuji musician Olasunkanmi Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, has issued a public apology over an incident that occurred at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on August 5, 2025, describing the event as “highly regrettable.”

In a viral video on Friday, the veteran artiste acknowledged his actions while attempting to board a ValueJet flight from Abuja to Lagos, taking full responsibility for the incident.

“I KWAM1: Valuejet Incident Highly Regrettable, I Accept Responsibility

“I am here to make clarification of the incident that happened on the 5th of August, 2025 at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport local wing while about to board the aircraft from Abuja to Lagos. The incident is highly regrettable because I have contributed to the better part of my country, art and culture, both in and out of the country.”

K1, who is regarded as a cultural ambassador of Nigeria, went on to appeal to President Bola Tinubu, the Minister of Aviation, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), and his fans worldwide to pardon his behaviour.

“I’ve been a good ambassador of this great nation in and out in very many ways, somebody like me should not be found in such incidents. I accept responsibility and appeal to Mr. President, the country, the Honourable Minister for Aviation, the FAAN, the NCAA and my fans across the globe to please pardon my behaviour.”

K1 issued an apology a few days after he caused a disruption on a ValueJet plane in Abuja by jeopardising the safety of passengers when he was prevented from boarding. Following this incident, the Federal Government imposed a no-fly ban on him while the investigation is underway.
