A woman has narrated how an accident victim was left to his fate while onlookers looked on until she stopped to help.
She narrated how the man was hit by by a bus but could not be helped and even when he was taken to the hospital, the staff could not treat him as emergency but was sluggish in carrying out their duties.
Read the tweet, “We are in trouble. I’m driving to my shop and I see a man writhing in pain on the floor; he’s surrounded by Atleast 10 people. I park and rush down to enquire, they say he got hit by a bus. So I ask why they’re doing nothing and not one person could explain. I’m so livid!!!”
“It gets worse! I take him to the nearest hospital and the attitude of the staff was woeful. No sense of emergency, no empathy just straight faces asking for payment. I oblige and this nurse is wasting time trying to find out his name when you should be checking his vitals. 😡”
“Alihamdulilah he’s fine. The doctor checked him and said he’s ok but gave him pain medication, ordered blood work with X-ray but he and his friends declined. He seems to be feeling better and I honestly can’t force him so I gave him some money and sent him on his way. This has surely got me thinking, we @visitahospital need to do more. We must sensitize and teach people what to do in case of emergencies. Regular workshops and outreach! Also the govt needs to do more in assuring citizens that helping someone won’t put them in trouble.”
You can recall that many people concentrate on recording accident victims than helping them. While some are scared about the implication but more focus should be on saving lives.
