Ukraine-Russia War: More Stranded Nigerians Arrive Abuja

About one hundred and twenty-two, 122, Nigerian evacuees from Ukraine has arrived at the Abuja airport through the AirPeace following the invasion of Ukraine by Russia on the 24th of February 2022.

Announcing this on Twitter, the Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa stated that the returnees were given a sim card with N5000 airtime to reach their relatives.

Abike also revealed that through her Commission, the Federal Government gave out a $100 transport fare to the returnees.

War broke out in Ukraine with the invasion of Russia in the last week of February. Many Nigerians, other nationals were trapped as there was no way to leave the country.

The federal government advised stranded Nigerians to find a way to the borders of Polland where they will be picked up and returned to the country.
