Ikpeazu Charges New Commissioners on Local Government Election
Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has charged the new Commissioners for the Abia State Independent Electoral Commission (ABSIEC) to come up with proposals for the conduct of the last Local Government elections in his tenure.

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has charged the new Commissioners for the Abia State Independent Electoral Commission (ABSIEC) to come up with proposals for the conduct of the last Local Government elections in his tenure.
Speaking at the inauguration of the new Commissioners for the Abia State Independent Electoral Commission (ABSIEC) at the Exco Chambers, Government House, Umuahia on Friday, he said he expects to conduct another Local Government poll before he leaves office in May this year.
A statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Onyebuchi Ememanka, revealed that Prof. Nkpa Agu Nkpa’s tenure as Chairman is subsisting and Mr. Onyekachi Dinneya is the Secretary of the commission.
While appreciating Prof. Nkpa led ABSIEC for conducting two successful LG elections under his first tenure as ABSIEC Chairman charged the commission to start functioning immediately.
The six Commissioners are Prince Dan Okoli, Onyebinanma Sunday Onyebinanma, Dan Onwutuebe, Henry Okachie Okere, Enyinnaya Ebere, and Mrs. Precious Achumba.
Responding on behalf of the newly inaugurated ABSIEC Commissioners, the ABSIEC Chairman, Prof. Nkpa Agu Nkpa, and the Secretary of the Commission, Mr. Onyekachi Dinneya thanked the Governor for the team selected to strengthen the ABSIEC and assured they would work more assiduously and make the Governor and the State proud.
Deputy Governor Sir Ude Oko Chukwu, Secretary to Government, Barrister Chris Ezem, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief Okey Ahiwe, members of the State Executive Council, and other top officials of the State Government witnessed the event.
