Members of the House of Representatives have debunked allegations of collecting a $10,000 incentive to vote for the State of Emergency declared by President Bola Tinubu in River State, calling it malicious and false.

Speaking, Deputy Spokesman of the House, Philip Agbese said the endorsement by the HoR was out of patriotism and to maintain a lasting peace in the State in line with the constitutional responsibilities of parliament.

He further stated that those who peddle the falsehood of an inducement do so to cause unnecessary tension and distort facts in the country.
Affirming its independence, Agbese said the HoR is guided only by democratic principles, the rule of law, and the collective will of the Nigerian people.
