Breaking News: Court Grants Emperor Ogbonna Bail
The High Court in Abuja, in an application for the enforcement of his Fundamental Rights of detained Lawyer, Emperor Ogbonna, filed on his behalf by Lagos based human rights activist, Monday Ubani Esq, the former 2nd Vice President of NBA, High Court of FCT, heard an application of his bail.

In the hearing today, the 17th day of July 2020, the court after listening to Nkem Okoro Esq of Counsel, appearing with Obioma Ezenwobodo, for the Applicant, and after hearing the opposition to the application by DSSS lawyer, the court held that DSSS has not shown diligence in the prosecution of the case.

The court, therefore, granted bail to Emperor Ogbonna Esq, in the sum 20,000,000.00 and two sureties in the like sum, one of whom must be in the civil service, not less than level 14.
The matter was further adjourned by the court to 17th September 2020, in view of the court’s annual vacation which commences by Monday next week.
Emperor was allegedly arrested by the Abia State Government on March 28 and was transferred to Abuja by the DSS.
