Newsleverage had reported that residents of Niger State had grounded activities in the State capital on Monday morning in protest over the high cost of living.
“The protest in Minna, Niger State against the high cost of living falls within the ambit of the right to peaceful dissent. Protest against the cost of living was also done in other European cities experiencing economic pains. The protest is simply a message and a call for immediate and impactful measures to address the problems of the epidemic of poverty in the country.”

The former Senator representing Kaduna Central made it clear that protests also happen in other countries experiencing economic pains.
With the removal of fuel subsidies, the incessant killing of farmers and kidnapping by terrorists, and the depreciation of the Naira, there was an upsurge in the cost of living of the people.
