Mazi Zulu Ofoelue X-rays Eze Aros Leadership at One, Speaks on All Aro National Conference 

Mazi Zulu Ofoelue, the Secretary of the Coronation Anniversary Celebration Committee, has stated that Eze Aro, Dr Eberechukwu Oji, has performed exceedingly well in leadership and called him a ‘visionary leader.’

“EzeAro is visionary and has done exceedingly well. He has provided leadership. Without that Leadership, many people in Arochukwu will be sceptical of contributing to the development of Arochukwu.

Also, development projects are always ongoing, not actualised in a very short time. It’s a community-based initiative. Aro now has a path of achievement since the coming of Eze Aro. Projects are all ongoing, it’s a work in progress.”

Reflecting as the Kingdom marks first anniversary of His Majesty, Eze Aro IX, Eze Eberechukwu Oji, Mazi Ofoelue said the coronation anniversary coincides with the prestigious All Aro National Conference, a quintessential event which draws Umu Aro (Aro people) from across the globe, settlements to deliberate on the future and unity of the ancient kingdom.

“It is an opportunity to discuss Aro, the new era, developing new paths, apart from the first anniversary of His Eminence Eze Eberechukwu Oji, we have integrated the All Aro National Conference held every five years. We expect all indigenes of Arochukwu Kingdom from all over the world, in all communities outside the homestead to attend this conference. The last one was held at Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, but this one will be held at the Civic Centre, Oror in Arochukwu. Six papers will be delivered by intellectuals centred on development.”

Speaking with Newsleverage, Mazi Ofoelue described the moment as a significant convergence of tradition, leadership, and progress “It will be a time created to develop new parts of the kingdom and map out our collective future.” Mazi Ofoelue mentioned that the Judiciary Committee, chaired by Justice Anyalewechi Onwuchekwa, was set up to handle issues about the welfare and justice system of Arochukwu people, but recently stepped down due to health reasons. His role is now filled by Barrister Acho Ochonma.

A boundary committee was also set up to maintain peaceful relationships with Arochukwu and neighbouring communities, while a committee to harmonise bride price was set up, aimed at alleviating the burden on Aro youths seeking marriage. Not leaving out tourism, Mazi Ofoelue mentioned the different historic sites and artefacts in the Kingdom and emphasised that “tourist sites in Arochukwu will be turned into a world-class destination for tourists.”

Additionally, the Chairman of the Coronation Anniversary Celebration Committee, Mazi Obi Chijioke, stated that the anniversary celebration will reaffirm that Arochukwu Kingdom is on a path of continuous progress and development.
