Obi Urges Nigerians to Register for PVCs, Says Nation’s Future Depends on Every Vote
The presidential candidate of the National Democratic Coalition (NDC), Mr. Peter Obi, has appealed to eligible Nigerians who are yet to register for their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to do so, urging citizens not to lose faith in the country’s democratic process despite the experiences of the 2023 general election.

In a statement on Thursday, Obi acknowledged that many Nigerians decided against registering after the outcome of the last general election, saying he understood the disappointment and frustrations that informed such decisions.
“I appeal to every eligible Nigerian who has not yet registered for a Permanent Voter Card (PVC) to do so. I understand that some people chose not to register after what happened in 2023, and I know many have their reasons,” he said.
The former Anambra State governor, however, urged Nigerians not to abandon hope, insisting that active participation in the electoral process remains essential to shaping the country’s future.
“But we must not give up on our country. Every vote determines the future of Nigeria. Let us rise above disappointment, register, collect our PVCs, and participate in building the Nigeria we all desire,” Obi stated.
He emphasized that obtaining a PVC and exercising the right to vote are critical responsibilities for citizens committed to strengthening democracy and driving positive change in the country.
