Ikpeazu Adjusts Sanitation Exercise, Exempts Some LGAs

The Abia State Government has adjusted the sanitation exercise and restriction of movement on the 27th of March, 2021 over the bye-election of the Aba North/Aba South Federal Constituency.

The Abia State Government has adjusted the sanitation exercise and restriction of movement on the 27th of March, 2021 over the bye-election of the Aba North/Aba South Federal Constituency.

A statement released by the Commissioner of Information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu, stated that some Local Government Areas have been exempted from the sanitation exercise.

The LGAs exempted includes; Osisioma, Obingwa and Ugwunagbo.

Part of the statement reads;

“This is in addition to Aba North and Aba South LGAs as earlier announced.

In summary, movement of persons and vehicles will now be restricted in the following LGAs in the state from 8:00 pm (2000hrs) Friday, 26th March 2021 to 6:00 am (0600hrs) Sunday, 28th March 2021:

Aba North LGA
Aba South LGA
Obingwa LGA
Osisioma LGA
Ugwunagbo LGA

Only voters going out within the stipulated hours, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials on election duty, workers on essential duties with proper identification documents and security operatives are exempted from the restrictions within the stated period.

The usual monthly environmental sanitation exercise will go ahead in the other 12 LGAs on Saturday, March 27. Concerned Local Government Chairmen are expected to lock down their respective LGAs within the period of the cleanup exercise.”
