Kalu Engages Political Party Leaders on Constitution Review, Urges Collective Action on Key Reforms
Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, has called on political party leaders across Nigeria to actively participate in the ongoing constitutional review process, describing it as a national duty that transcends party lines.

Speaking during a high-level consultative session held in Abuja, Kalu addressed National Chairmen, National Secretaries, and National Women Leaders of registered political parties.
The meeting, organised by the House Committee on Constitution Review, focused on pressing amendment issues, including Special Seats for Women, Judicial and Electoral Reforms, Local Government Reforms, State Policing, and Human Rights.

In his opening remarks, Kalu emphasised the importance of inclusive dialogue and urged party leaders to critically engage with the proposed constitutional amendments.
“These reforms are not partisan issues, but Nigerian issues that demand our collective commitment,” he stated. “The task before us is enormous, but with unity of purpose and collective action, we can deliver a Constitution that strengthens our democracy, deepens inclusion, and secures a better future for all Nigerians.”
He further encouraged stakeholders to study the bills carefully, provide feedback, and contribute meaningful suggestions to shape a people-centred constitutional framework.
