Kingibe: I Never Saw the Report That Led to Senator Natasha’s Suspension
Senator Ireti Kingibe, who represents the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Senatorial District, has disclosed that she never saw the committee report that led to the suspension of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan from the Senate.

Speaking in an interview with Charles Aniagolu of Arise TV shortly after Edo North Senator Adams Oshiomhole alleged that signatures were forged on a document recommending the suspension of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, Kingibe explained that she was attending a retreat on tax reforms alongside Senator Adams Oshiomhole when she received news of the report.
“I was at a retreat with Senator Adams Oshiomhole when I heard about the report. I had earlier stated that I was there with three or four other senators who are members of the committee. We attended the Committee on Petitions and Public Complaints, signed the attendance register, and I later left for the tax reform retreat, which I considered more important at the time,” she said.
Kingibe also dismissed concerns about the possible deregistration of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), insisting that the party remains a formidable opposition platform and will participate in future elections.
“ADC is one of the largest opposition parties and cannot be deregistered,” she said.
Expressing confidence in the party’s future, Kingibe assured members and supporters that there was no cause for alarm.
“I’m confident that, regardless of the situation, we would be on the ballot. I also issued a message to all ADC members and my constituents in the FCT, urging them to remain calm and not be alarmed. Everything is under control, and we are on course,” she stated.
