IGP Egbetokun Meets Retired Officers Over Pension Concerns
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, on Monday met with retired police officers at the Peacekeeping Hall of the Force Headquarters in Abuja following a protest demanding better welfare.
The retired officers had gathered peacefully to voice their concerns over retirement benefits, prompting the IGP to fulfil an earlier promise to personally engage with them.

The meeting, which is taking place in a calm and orderly atmosphere, is being attended solely by verified retirees. It reflects the Nigeria Police Force leadership’s dedication to addressing welfare issues through open and respectful communication.
IGP Egbetokun, in his remarks, reaffirmed the Force’s readiness to listen and respond to the genuine concerns of its former personnel, describing the engagement as a step towards lasting solutions and improved post-service support.
Further updates are expected as the dialogue continues.
