Teacher Suspended for Rejecting Ramadan Palliative

A classroom teacher in Kebbi State, Abduljalal Usman, has reportedly been suspended for three months without salary after rejecting a Ramadan palliative offered by the state government and publicly criticising what he described as poor governance.

Usman, who teaches in a public school in the state, allegedly declined the relief package, which consisted of one mudu of maize and one mudu of millet, distributed as part of a Ramadan support initiative for workers.

According to reports, the teacher openly expressed dissatisfaction with the quantity of the palliative and the broader economic conditions facing citizens, describing the gesture as inadequate amid rising living costs.

Following his comments and refusal to accept the items, education authorities in the state reportedly issued a suspension letter placing him on a three-month suspension without pay.
