“Executive Power Supersedes Legislative Power” – Senator Mao Commends Governor Otti
Former Senator representing Abia North Senatorial District, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, has applauded the Governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Otti, for the construction of the Okobo Road, stating that the governor is doing a commendable job in the state.

The senator, who is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Pro-Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt, revealed that during his time in the Senate, he made several attempts to draw attention to the condition of the road by raising the matter in the Red Chamber, but all efforts proved abortive.
He emphasised that “executive power supersedes legislative power,” noting that despite his efforts as a legislator to ensure that the road to Arochukwu was constructed, it was Governor Otti who eventually delivered the project.

“I did everything possible to make sure the road to Arochukwu was done, but today, our son has done it,” he said.
Speaking at the Aro Day 2025 celebration, Senator Ohuabunwa described the event as a dream come true.
He stressed that the occasion was beyond politics, adding, “Today we have seen that this is not about politics. I am the BoT Chairman of the PDP, but I am saying that Governor Alex Otti has performed exceptionally well.”
