Following the rescue of the man who jumped into the Lagoon in Lagos, the Lagos State police has revealed the real reason why the man, Princewill David, tried to commit suicide in February.

Recall that the 28-year-old was on an Uber ride when he asked the driver to stop him at third mainland bridge in Lagos State, the Uber driver drooped him close to the Rapid Response Team and luckily, when he jumped, he landed on a plank and was immediately rescued.
According to the state Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, David had an altercation with his girlfriend and killed her in a hotel and went to jump into the lagoon to escape justice.
When asked why he wanted to kill himself, he claimed it was because his girlfriend dumped him, a claim which has now turned out to be false.
